Halloween

I was really excited for Halloween this year. Actually, it doesn't take much to get me excited these days, since I spend so much time at home, now that Lucy is here. I found a recipe online for Halloween calzones, so one night we tried those (there wasn't anything spooky inside, they were just in the shape of witches hats). They didn't really taste that great, but they looked good! And for the ward Halloween party, I made some fun festive cupcakes.

And then of course, there was Lucy. I got her a costume a while ago, and was so excited to actually be able to put it on her. She was a flower, and she looked adorable!

All About Lucy

Lucy is such a good baby. She doesn't often cry (unless she's hungry- when she decides she's hungry, she wants her food NOW, and I never seem to be quick enough in getting it to her). She loves her bath time, her swing, and her Dad. She gets excited when we sing Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam to her, and tap her on the nose when we say "sunbeam." She also absolutely loves her pacifier...I'm starting to wonder if it was a mistake to get her hooked on it.

Tummy time isn't her favorite, but she'll tolerate it for a couple of minutes. It's fun to see her cute little personality starting to come out!

Blessing

Lucy's baby blessing was on the 27th of September. She looked adorable (of course!) in her little white dress. Her tights turned out to be HUGE, but oh well. She still looked perfect. And Ashton did a beautiful job on the blessing. Lucy slept through the whole thing. I have to admit, I was worried that during the blessing, Lucy would have a blowout in her diaper with the microphone right there, and everyone would be able to hear it. But thankfully, that didn't happen! (What a stupid thing to be worried about anyways, right?)

That evening, we went up to Mike and Lynda's (Ashton's uncle and aunt) for dinner. Pat and Nichole (Ashton's cousin and his wife) blessed their little boy, Alec, the same day. Since everyone wasn't able to make it to both blessings, Mike and Lynda had everyone over so we could at least all get together for dinner. It was a really nice day!

Cute Girl

I'm amazed at how much laundry this tiny 7 pound person can make. She can go through several outfits in a matter of minutes. But just look at her. She's so stinking cute, so it's okay.

Lucy's First Trip to the Zoo

On Labor Day we took Lucy to the zoo. Okay, so the trip was really more for Ashton and I, but we figured that Lucy would like being outside and hearing all the different sounds. And as you can clearly see from the pictures, she thoroughly enjoyed herself (she slept through pretty much the whole thing). It was fun for Ashton and I to get out of the house, though. Seeing all the animals was great, but the people watching was fantastic! We saw all kinds of great stuff.

Lucy!

Baby Lucy is here! Well, she's been here for about two and a half weeks, but this is the first chance I've had to update the blog! She was just barely under 6 lbs. when she was born, and she was 18 inches long. She's a little heavier and longer now. She's absolutely turned our lives upside down, but in a good way! We are so glad she's finally here!

Update

It's been a while since I've posted anything, so here's what's been going on over the past few weeks:
My Mom and I went to California for a week, and we got to go to Monterey for a few days. It was SO nice. We went to the aquarium, the beach, and of course, shopped.

My friend Kristine threw me a baby shower for all my friends and family in Sacramento. She outdid herself, and it was so fun!
Back here in Utah, Brittany and Christella threw Nichole and I a baby shower. They went all out, and we had a great time! Christi came out, too, so it was fun to see her!
Paige absolutely LOVES Uncle Ashton. It's pretty darn cute.

A Trip to Indiana

Last week we got to go to Indiana to visit Ashton's parents. We had a great time. The weather was beautiful, and it was so nice to relax and visit with the fam.
Ashton made paella while we were there. He put chicken, mussels, shrimp, and several different kinds of veggies in it. It was really tasty!
Christi, Ashton, and I went shopping one day, and I found this Christmas dress for the baby. It was originally $42.50, but I got it for less than $8! (I get REALLY excited when I get good deals!)

I've been tagged!

I was tagged by my friend Alli. (I had to ask what being tagged meant before I did anything...I'm not super up on all this blogging stuff.) So for this particular tag, I had to take the 6th picture from the 6th folder of my pictures. (Well, the 6th folder only had 5 pictures in it, so this is the 5th picture...whoops.)

Well, as you can see, this picture is Ashton and his sweet 'stache, making a kissy face. He's going to be happy to see his mustache on the blog again!

It's a...

So we had the ultrasound last week, and we're having a baby girl! We are SO excited! It was amazing to see her little legs, arms, her face, and everything else. She kept her legs crossed for the majority of the ultasound- very lady-like.

I've started the shopping. I found some good sales, so her wardrobe is shaping up already!

My BFF

This is Kristine. We'e been best friends since 5th grade. She lives is Sacramento, and came to visit this past weekend. We did what we do best when we get together- we shopped! We went to the outlets in Park City one afternoon. That was really fun. We also did a lot of eating, talking, and watching TV/movies. We had so much fun together! It was so fun to see her!

Baby!

We get to find out on March 19th if we're having a boy or a girl! I am having such a hard time waiting. This baby and it's gender is all I can think about. Almost everyone I've talked to has told me it's a boy. I don't care either way, I just want to KNOW!

One fun-filled, jam-packed weekend

Ashton's best friend from college, Mike, and his wife, Catherine, came to visit for Mike's 30th birthday. We did SO much stuff while they were here, and we had a lot of fun. One day Catherine, Mike, and Ashton went shooting. (We don't have pictures of anything but the shooting excursion because our camera died.)

Some of the other fun things that we did while they were here include: A trip to Salt Lake (we went to the temple, met up with more friends at Tucanos, and went bowling), tubing at Soldier Hollow, lunch in Park City, games, and more eating!

My Surprise Chair

I mentioned to Ashton that it would be nice to have a rocking chair when the baby came. However, I just figured that since there are so many things to buy when it comes to having a baby, a rocking chair would be something extra that we couldn't afford.
But on my birthday, Ashton surprised me with this rocking chair! I was so excited. I love it!

My favorite time of the year..sort of

Personally, I think this is the best time of the year. At least for TV. This week, 24 came back after a long hiatus. Very exciting. And American Idol is on again. I LOVE the auditions! Ashton gets really uncomfortable watching them, but I can't get enough of them. I wait all year long for them. Also, The Office has taken a break for a few weeks, and comes on again tonight! It's going to be a good one, too. Dwight and Andy apparently have a showdown.
I know it's been over a month since I've posted anything, and now I'm going on about TV. But I have to say, this is pretty much the best week of TV all year. I don't know if any of you guys feel the same way, but I'm excited.
