9. He has a special voice he uses only when talking to kittens or babies.

16.He's more of a dog person than a cat person.
17. He has a nice singing voice.

22. He talks in his sleep.

27. He's very selfless.
28. He does an amazing job when he cleans the house, especially in the bathroom!

30.He's the best husband anyone could ever ask for!

My wreath

I love the wreaths like this with all the ornaments, but I can never bring myself to buy one because they're so expensive. So I decided to make one. I looked on marthastewart.com and got an idea how to put it together, then went and bought all the stuff for it. To make it, it took me about 4 or 5 hours. There are a few flaws, but overall, I'm so proud! I love it!

Gingerbread Houses

Ashton and I made a deal. If I went to Cabela's with him, he would go to the Gingerbread House Festival with me. For some reason, I think it's absolutely fascinating that people can make these things completely out of food. I love watching the challenges they have on the Food Network when they make the gingerbread sculptures or the incredible cakes.
This gingerbread creation had places and famous buildings from all over the world. It's kind of hard to see, but in the center is the Statue of Liberty.

This one was really cool. It was an underwater scene. There were tons of seashells, and two big sea monsters. It was so detailed, and so fun to look at. I really enjoyed myself. I can't really say the same for Ashton, but he was a good sport.

$1.99!!!

We were driving somewhere yesterday, and saw that gas was only $1.99! Even though Ashton still had about 2/3 of a tank of gas left, we decided that it was worth it to top of his tank seeing the cheap price! So that's what we did. Then a little later, we saw gas somewhere else for $1.95. I hope the lower gas prices stay around for awhile!

It's official! I'm domestic!

My mom gave me a sewing machine for my birthday...two and a half years ago. It's been in the box this whole time. But yesterday I decided to get it out of the box and make some pajama pants. I bought the fabric and pattern about 2 years ago (with the intention of using them a lot sooner).
I'm not real good with reading directions. I get really frustrated, and just try to figure things out on my own. So Ashton had to show me how to work the machine. He was really patient, and I was really impressed with his knowledge! I had no idea he could sew! Anyways, it took about 7 hours to figure out the machine and actually make the pants. Ashton sat with me the whole time and helped me out. If you don't look too closely at the craftsmanship, the pants look decent. They're also big enough that should I gain 75 pounds, I can still fit into them!

Berries and Cream

Do you remember those Starburst commercials with the wierd guy who does the "little lad dance"? My cousin showed me this video of "the little lad" on youtube, and for some reason, I think it's hilarious. Hope you enjoy it, too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyvhMHDi6Mo

Bread!

I know you're all probably thinking, "Geez, she never does anything with her blog, and when she does she writes about bread?" But earlier this week I made bread for the first time, and I'm so proud of it! I made wheat bread, and it turned out really well. It's not often that I feel really domestic, but for some reason I was feeling it that day, and it paid off!

Baby Sandee

A few weeks ago, we went up to Salt Lake because Ashton's cousin B and his wife Jenny came in from Hawaii to bless their new baby, Sandee. She's a cute little baby, and here she is with cousin Ashton.

Bug on the Bed

There's no story to go along with this, I just thought it was a funny picture. It's Bug, lounging on our bed.

Wedding in Ferron

This past weekend Ashton's cousin Buck got married. The reception was in JaNene and Doug's (Ashton's aunt and uncle) backyard in Ferron. It turned out really nicely. Buck's sister Christella made their wedding cake, and it was beautiful. She'd never made a wedding cake before, and she did a wonderful job. As for flowers, Christella, Nichole (Ashton's cousin Pat's wife), and I made all the corsages and boutonnieres. Christella and Nichole made Chanie's (the bride) bouquet, and it was gorgeous. None of us had ever done that kind of stuff before, but the flowers all turned out very nicely. It was a really nice wedding.

Ashton's New Friend

I come home from work today, and what's on the couch? Ashton and his new mustache. He's had a goatee for the past couple of days, but decided to cut it back to just the 'stache today. And I've got to be honest; It's not my favorite look. It's actually kind of freaking me out a little bit. I told him that he looks like some sort of a deviant.
Ashton thinks it's great, though. He likes all the funny smiles he's getting from people. It's funny to watch him when he sees his reflection in a window or something. He makes himself smile and chuckle. I have to admit that the 'stache is funny, I just hope it doesn't last for long.

Going to Detroit!

My brother John went into the MTC on June 25. We got his first letter today, and it sounds like things are going really well so far! We miss him, but we're so proud of him!

Paige

We've gotten to spend a lot of time with our niece Paige this month. It's been so much fun! She's the most good natured baby I've ever met! She's always so happy. We hope that when we have kids they're at least half as pleasant to be around as she is!

Bug

Our cat, Bug (his name was Darnell, but we never used it so we changed it), got into some sort of fight and had to go to the vet. When the vet looked him over, he said that Bug looked more like a female cat from underneath (his mammary glands). So it's a possibility that we have a hermaphrodite kitty! That kind of weirds us out.
